New Nyerguds Three-language pack modification
I did some enhancements to Nyerguds three-language pack for Command and Conquer and made it a bit more user friendly. At first I wanted to create a version of his pack, which allows the player to easy capture the gameplay so it can be uploaded to any video portal on the world wide web. This pack includes the english and french original MS-DOS releases as well as the german version with all robot-trashcan-sounds and the black blood removed. Germans are now playing the game in its uncencored original form.
All credits belong to Nyerguds!
With my version of Nyerguds three-language pack:
– One button needed to capture own gameplay with the dosbox capture-feature.
– You can start each of the three languages by just clicking on my .bat files.
– With the video.mix missing, you can start your own speedruns without to skip any cutscenes in between!
– Wann aplay the game in its original form with all cutscenes? Then simply copy and paste the video.mix and music.mix files from your legal copy of the game into the folder!
This is a must-have for every Command and Conquer addict!

I did some enhancements to nyerguds three-language
pack for command and conquer and made it a bit more
user friendly. At first I wanted to create a version
of his pack, which allows the player to easy record
the gameplay so it can be uploaded to youtube. I includet
virtual dub to edit and cut the raw files as well as
the dosbox 0.72 release to install the video codecs that
are needed to play and edit the .avi files.
This pack includes the english and french original
MS-DOS releases as well as the german version with all
robot-trashcan-sounds and the black blood removed.
All credits belong to nyerguds!
Germans are now playing the game in its uncencored
original form.
This pack does not include any music or movie data.
To enable the videos and the music, you need to copy
and paste the video.mix and music.mix files from
your original cd-rom into this directory. It does not
matter if you take it from the Gold or Freeware release.
This document covers how to start the game with the
different languages, followed by a Step by Step solution
about how to capture own gameplay.
###How to start the game Step by Step###
– Just copy the dos_cnc folder wereever you want. The
game can be started from every location on your hard disk!
– Start the english original version by just
clicking on the start_en.bat, which opens dosbox that
runs the cnc_en.com file.
– To start the now uncencored german version, just click
on the start_de.bat file, which opens dosbox that runs
the cnc_de.com file.
– To start the french version, just click on the
start_fr.bat file, which opens dosbox that runs the
cnc_fr.com file.
– You can create linkages to your desktop of the
start_de.bat
start_fr.bat
and
start_en.bat
###Capturing own gameplay Step by Step###
1.
You can now start to record own gameplay by just hit the
“]” key on the english keyboard (the “+” key on the
german keyboard).
A second hit on that button stops the recording.
All raw files will be saved into the “capture” folder.
2.
Before you can play any recordet video in any player,
you need to install Dosbox by using the
dosbox_install.exe.
Now use Start in your windows task-bar ->
go to programs ->
go to dosbox 0.72 ->
go to video ->
install movie codec
3.
To edit each recording, just go into the VirtualDub folder
and use the virtualdub.exe to start the program.
4.
Have a great time with your very own command and conquer
gameplay video!

Hi,
You say that “you need to copy
and paste the video.mix and music.mix files from
your original cd-rom into this directory. It does not
matter if you take it from the Gold or Freeware release.” but I’ve just downloaded the C&C ISO (GDI95.ISO) and it doesn’t have any file video.mix/music.mix. Only movies.mix/scores.mix. Once I overwrite the 20kb scores.mix that you provided with the original the game returns to DOS saying “Unable to load scores.mix”.
The same occurs if I copy the file from the original C&C DOS CDs. Using your pack as-is it works nice, but no Klepacki stuff – no fun.
(Through DOSBox it works ok but I’m not using it bc I’m trying to make it work on a very old computer (PIII 800MHz, Creative SBAWE32) and the gameplay is sluggish.)
Any ideas?

You say that you downloaded the ISO and there is no video.mix and movies.mix on it? Can’t be. The Only idea I have is that you install the game from the .iso and check the installation folder if they can be found there then. Regarding the error message: I tested every .mix file of any release and it worked just fine. I sadly have no clue why it doesn’t run on your system.
Basically, I customized the DOScnc for people that wish to break my time trials I uploaded to YT. It was never supposed to have cutscenes or music. Skipping through cutscenes again if you need to restart a failed time trial just slowed down the process. The original creator of the package, nyerguds, sadly completely removed the download for it and replaced it with CNC95 which makes my customization the last available download one on the web.
